The Convergence Residency is a five-day, immersive leadership programme designed to bring together two worlds that rarely engage deeply: the non-profit sector and the corporate world. Grounded in the belief that sustainable change requires shared language, shared incentives, and shared humanity, the residency offers a transformative space where leaders reflect, learn, and build long-term pathways for collaboration.
Residency period
20 – 24 May 2026
Arrival – 19 May 2026
Departure – 25 May 2026
Location:
Lake Elmentaita Serena Camp,
Soysambu Conservacy
Nakuru, Kenya
Inspired by the retreat-style model of interdisciplinary residencies, the Convergence Residency places equal emphasis on intellectual rigor, lived experience, interpersonal exchange, and practical strategy development. Set in a serene, off-site location, participants step away from the noise of daily work to engage in structured learning, cross-sector dialogue, and intentional relationship-building.
Core Philosophy
The residency is built around a simple but powerful premise:
To forge stronger partnerships, non-profit leaders can benefit from embracing business and investment principles, while corporate leaders gain from a deeper understanding of community-driven impact models.
By bringing these perspectives into conversation, the residency enables leaders to:
rethink how social change is funded, measured, and sustained;
understand the incentives and constraints of both sectors;
explore collaborative models that combine purpose with viability;
cultivate cross-sector partnerships that are equitable, long-term, and community-centered.
Participants
The 2026 cohort will gather 30 forward-thinking leaders, equally divided between the non-profit and corporate sectors:
Non-Profit Delegates (15)
- Executive Directors
- Senior Programme Managers
- Founders of social-purpose organizations
- Leaders working in community development, gender, education, climate, governance, or adjacent fields
Corporate Delegates (15)
- CSR & Sustainability Managers
- Corporate Foundation Leads
- Social Impact Investors
- Innovative business unit heads
- Professionals shaping company-wide impact strategies
Participants will be carefully curated based on leadership experience, clarity of mission, and a demonstrated commitment to advancing ethical, sustainable impact.
Group Chairs
Mohammed Ali
Mohammed Ali is a second-generation refugee of South Asian and Pacific heritage, shaped by a lineage deeply rooted in service, community, and collective responsibility. This heritage informs how Mohammed sees the world and how he leads with an instinct to uplift, accompany, and create space for others to grow.
Growing up, Mohammed often tried to fit in shortening his name and dimming parts of himself to feel accepted. Today, he stands firmly in his power, focused on elevating others into theirs. Mohammed believes that one of humanity’s greatest strengths is the ability to carry ancestral wisdom forward, using it to serve not only the present moment but generations to come.
With nearly twenty years of global experience in social impact and social justice, Mohammed’s work has spanned regions including South Sudan and Fiji. His current focus is on elevating leadership consciousness, supporting leaders to become more connected, grounded, and courageous in how they lead.
He works closely with C-level leaders and executive teams, uplifting them to feel more connected, rooted, and courageous, often bringing together for-profit and not-for-profit organisations. He also uplifts specific groups, including those engaged in social justice for Palestine, emerging leaders from minority backgrounds, and men in social justice. Elevating consciousness allows heavy responsibility to be shared rather than carried alone, enabling bolder strategies without feeling their weight.
Angela Perry
Angela Perry is a widely-recognized catalyst for structural change, weaving together insights from classrooms, boardrooms, and communities worldwide. As the Founder and Executive Director of 4th-Dimension Leaders, she spearheads a mission to disrupt systemic inequity by unlocking human and organizational potential.
Her two-decade journey, which began in a middle school classroom, has evolved into a global practice as a consultant and convener. She has designed and facilitated pioneering leadership initiatives across the United States and in parts of Europe, India, and the Caribbean.
A distinguished member of the Aspen Institute’s Pahara network, Angela is a masterful architect of transformative spaces where mission-driven leaders converge. She excels as a facilitator, strategic designer, and cross-sector moderator, dedicated to forging shared language and actionable pathways for sustainable impact. Her work translates a belief in shared humanity into the creation of systems where opportunity is boundless.
Lance Gould
Lance Gould is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Brooklyn Story Lab (BSL), a media-strategy firm that teaches purpose-driven organizations how to be more effective storytellers, particularly around their SDG-related work.
He was previously a journalist who held newsroom-leadership positions at The Huffington Post (Executive Editor), The Boston Phoenix (Editor in Chief), The New York Daily News (Deputy Managing Editor), and Spy Magazine (Editor).
In 2016, Lance received a Tribeca Disruptive Innovation Award for his editorial work related to the SDGs. In 2017, Lance was named to the Leadership Council for the UN’s Media for Social Impact Summit. He is on the Board of World Elephant Day and for four years has been a volunteer commissioner for the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN)’s Commission on Education and Communications.
Residency Structure

Integrated Mastermind Groups: Small-group environments for problem-solving and strategy development.
The residency culminates in a Convergence Blueprint, a personalized, actionable framework each participant takes back to their organization.
