Avishan Chanani
Avishan Chanani is a senior consultant, with over 19 years of experience, working in international humanitarian and development sectors with a specialization in the Middle East region. Her research and advisory work have focused on the nexus between safety nets and humanitarian assistance, transitioning of short-term humanitarian assistance into nascent national social protection programmes and the role of faith-based groups in the provision of social welfare. She has also had extensive experience in humanitarian assistance programming geared towards migrant and refugee populations in Turkey, Lebanon and Jordan.
She holds an MSc in Social Policy and Planning of Developing Countries from the London School of Economics and a BA in International Relations and Economics.
